SPS developed the Earthducation Kits as a way to achieve the objectives given the current limitations. Earthducation is a program by Save Philippine Seas (SPS) that aims to increase conservation literacy, teach basic and transferable skills to pursue environmental education, and instill appreciation for nature and the immediate environment. The Earthducation Kit The Earthducation Program was designed for formal and non-formal educators (e.g., public/private school teachers and workshop facilitators). From 2013-2019, SPS organized various Earthducation workshops around the country. In light of the current travel restrictions and limitations on mass gatherings, we developed and designed the Earthducation Kit to continue achieving our objectives. We produced 50 Earthducation Kits for our pilot run. These have been distributed to public school teachers, media practitioners, and environmental educators. Interested in accessing materials and/or ordering an Earthducation Kit? Scroll down for more information! The Earthducation Kit is supported by Kiehl's Philippines and the Department of Education - Disaster Risk Reduction Management Service. The Earthducation Kit contains the following: Earthducation Manual and Activity Guide Vegetable seeds Reusable cloth bag Marine animal toys Energy Saving Sticker Labels Report cards Reusables from SIP PH Unboxing the Earthducation Kit Earthducation Manual and Activity Guide The Earthducation Manual aims to educate, enlighten, inspire, and empower educators to implement practices towards creating an eco learning space. The Manual begins with a background on the Philippine environment, followed by chapters on key environmental themes with recommendations on practices and lifestyle changes. Each chapter also provides links to multimedia resources that educators and learners can use for each activity. The Earthducation Activity Guide is the accompanying resource of the Earthducation Manual. Each chapter in the Activity Guide matches the themes in the Manual and presents activities that educators can do with learners in the physical and virtual eco learning space. The interactive activities present an opportunity to immediately apply knowledge learned from the Manual and enhance the learners' understanding of the underlying principles, processes, and procedures. PREVIEW PAGES OF THE EARTHDUCATION MANUAL AND ACTIVITY GUIDE The digital copies for both documents and the resource conservation report cards are available at a donation of PhP 1,000.00. The fee will support Save Philippine Seas' efforts to improve conservation literacy in the country. 🇵🇭 Earthducation Partners DepEd Disaster Risk Reduction Management Service The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service (DRRMS) is the Department of Education's focal and coordination unit for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Climate Change Adaptation, and Education in Emergencies.
