Advocasea Speed Dating

To celebrate World Oceans Day, we're organizing our first Advocasea Speed Dating event! As the name implies, this will not only be an opportunity to "date," but also to advocate and meet like-minded seatizens. We're holding it in our favorite taproom, Nipa Brew, on Saturday, June 8.

Here's how it will go:

• This event is open to everyone, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, and civil/emotional status. You may be single, taken, heartbroken, bitter, or happy.

• There will only be 30 slots available, and there is a P600 fee. The fee comes with three tasters of Nipa Brew craft beer, popcorn, and freebies (stickers! a book! discount coupons!).

• Baelyenas will be seated across each other: 15 on one side and 15 on the other. The seating arrangement will be random and gender will be mixed (hindi ito soiree).

• There will be a topic placed in between Baelyena A and Baelyena B (e.g., West Philippine Sea, Boracay closure, 2019 election results, etc.) and emojis and memes.

• Each round will last for three minutes. The first thirty seconds will be allotted for fast talk: Baelyena A and B will raise the meme or emoji that corresponds to how they feel about the topic and react. The rest of the time can be spent dissecting the topic or talking about yourselves/each other ("where do you work?" "what do you do?" "what's your favorite documentary?" "what shampoo bar do you use?")

• A bell will ring to signal movement at the 3-minute mark.

• For the second round, Baelyena A's line and Baelyena B's line will line up across each other to make sure that all participants will meet.
