Reimagine Recycling Year 3 (RR3) aims to help scale or advance emerging circular economy initiatives that help solve the plastic waste crisis.
Call for applications
A four-week application seeking solutions targeting organizations and networks
Participants will enhance existing initiatives through workshops
Participants will be able to network and learn from specialists in waste management
Three groups will be selected to win PhP 300,000.00 worth of funding
Applicants must apply as an organization, association, or group.
An organization that can comply with minimum legal documentary requirements to receive funding support (e.g., BIR/DTI registration, official receipts) is ideal but not required. If the organization/group is not legally registered, they can partner with Save Philippine Seas or another legally registered organization that can serve as a fund manager.
Have an existing solution/initiative that is at least six months old by September 2021.
Initiatives must show potential to scale and potential for impact.
Commit throughout the availability of the workshop
Applicants must be available to attend all the workshops (min. two representative and max. of three representatives per group) and project pitching session.
Initiatives must fall under one or more
of the following themes
Gender mainstreaming in waste management
Plastic waste collection and recycling
Improving waste segregation practices
Improving the welfare/quality of life of the informal waste sector or groups of informal waste pickers
Community-based education and advocacy programs that improve knowledge and practices on recyclable plastics, waste segregation, and collection for recycling
TIMELINE OF ACTIVITIES
Participants will be notified about the status of their application by mid-August 2021.
Reimagine Recycling Virtual Workshops
The Reimagine Recycling workshops will enhance existing initiatives by increasing their knowledge on Stakeholder Analysis, Storytelling and Visual Communication, Sustainability, and Circularity.
Project Pitching | Scale Up
Initiatives that receive funding will implement activities to scale up. SPS will conduct check-ins every other month to track progress.
