'Tis the sea-son

December 4, 2018

Sea-son's Greetings!

2018 has been a kind year to Save Philippine Seas. We started new campaigns and projects, gained new partners and collaborators, and met our fundraising target.  Because of the support of people like you, we’re aiming for bigger and deeper dreams next year. Find out how we've been riding the wave, and our plans for 2019.

Read the proposed Shark Conservation Act here.

We also co-convened Shark Conservation Week in Bohol from November 12-16. It was a week-long celebration for sharks, with milestones such as the “Baby Shark” Dance Challenge, the launch of the Shark Conservation Legislation: A Toolkit for Policymakers; and the 3rd Shark Summit. Visit Save Sharks Network Philippines to see what else happened!

Following our Earthducation Workshops in Laguna and Cebu, we implemented two Earthducation workshops in Boracay during the closure in partnership with Globe Telecom. The first one brought together teachers and students, while the second one was for business owners. This week, we're launching a new program with Globe for business owners. Stay tuned!

Still looking for Christmas gifts? These local enterprises have partnered with us by donating part of their proceeds with the purchase of the following products. Browse through our gallery below. These are truly gifts that keep on giving. 💖🎁

We had a full house at the Nipa Brew Taproom and Brewhouse during our first Commservation Workshop in July, so we’re bringing it back with different topics! Mark your calendars! 💙

Now approaching our third year! A-B-Seas is a three-day experiential learning activity that aims to teach the basics of marine ecosystems and biodiversity, connect people to nature, increase pro-environmental behavior, and teach leadership and transferable skills to pursue an advocacy. Save the dates!

We'll end this newsletter by thanking YOU. In seven years, SPS has grown from a social media movement into an online and offline community of proud and proactive seatizens.
