Applications for YSEALI Change the Current now open!

Calling all Filipino climate changemakers! Save Philippine Seas (SPS), in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, is pleased to announce the call for applications for the 2022 Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Change the Current (CTC)!

The YSEALI CTC seeks to empower Filipino youth, 18 to 23 years old, by developing leadership and entrepreneurial skills and leading climate change-related projects in their communities. Accepted applicants are expected to participate in the virtual training program that blends synchronous and asynchronous activities. The virtual program will cover topics on the basic science of climate change; climate change mitigation and adaptation; storytelling and visual communications; and project management.

The sessions will be held over Zoom at 1:30-3:30 PM on April 23, April 30, May 7, and May 21. The project pitching session will be held in the afternoon of May 28. During the project pitching session, participants will propose climate change adaptation and mitigation projects in their home communities. The top project ideas will receive seed funding of up to PhP25,000 and mentorship to support project implementation over the next six (6) months. An in-person culminating activity may be held at the end of 2022 or early 2023.
